Log Cabin Quilters is a friendly group of ladies who get together to make quilts, to natter and to enjoy tea and cake. We meet twice a month on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month between 2 and 4pm in the Edward Hall at the Victoria Halls in Hartley Wintney.
We always welcome newcomers with some experience or advanced quilters. We are not a teaching group but if you are a sewer who is relatively new to quilting there is usually somebody to ask for help or ideas for a project to get you started. Our programme is fairly unstructured. From time to time we have workshops on a particular aspect of patchwork or quilting, for example we recently had a workshop on machine applique and one on crazy patchwork. These are run by members of the group but there is no pressure for anyone to run a workshop or even to take part if you have a project that needs completing. Some of our members are quite happy to sit and sew and enjoy the company of other like-minded ladies. And of course the cake and a cup of tea does help.
Our annual subscription is £36 to cover the cost of the hall where we meet. Members can pay either in March for the whole year, or in March and September in two instalments of £18 in March and £18 in September. If you want to come and find out if we are the right group for you, you can visit us for 3 meetings free of charge. Following that you will be asked to pay £3 per month for each month still to run before the next subscription date.
Whether you are a sewer with an interest in finding out about patchwork and quilting or an experienced quilter we would love to meet you and have you join our group.
